Description

Immerse yourself in the flavors and cultural wonders of Varanasi, one of the world’s oldest cities, by exploring its vibrant street food scene, taking a peaceful boat ride on the Ganges, and witnessing the enchanting Ganga Aarti.

Begin your tour with a hotel pickup and prepare to savor the essence of Varanasi through its culinary delights. Start with the city’s famous samosa, a crispy, golden triangular snack filled with spiced potatoes, served with tangy chili and sweet sauces. Then, try Laung-Latta, a popular Varanasi sweet made from flour and sugar syrup—an irresistible local treat.

After this tasty start, head to the ghats to board a boat for a serene ride along the Ganges River. Glide along the sacred waters as your guide shares stories about Varanasi’s history, its spiritual significance, and the life along the ghats. Feel the calmness of the river as you pass by ancient temples and observe locals performing rituals on the banks. This peaceful boat ride sets the stage for the Ganga Aarti, a unique experience you won’t forget.

As evening approaches, dock near the main ghat to attend the Ganga Aarti, a mesmerizing ritual that fills the air with divine energy. Witness priests performing this ancient ceremony with oil lamps as offerings to Mother Ganga, while chants and bells echo through the air. This century-old ritual draws people from across the globe and is one of Varanasi’s most awe-inspiring experiences.

After the Aarti, continue your culinary adventure with a visit to one of Varanasi’s renowned eateries. Taste the rich flavors of Tamatar Chaat, a spiced tomato dish; Palak Patta Chaat, crispy spinach topped with fresh yogurt; Aloo Tikki, fried potato cakes served with chutneys; and, of course, a refreshing glass of lassi. For dessert, sample a variety of local sweets and conclude this flavor-filled journey with Meetha Paan, a sweet betel leaf specialty that Varanasi is famous for.

After this delightful exploration, your guide will escort you back to your hotel, leaving you with beautiful memories of Varanasi’s food, culture, and spiritual charm.

Without a boat tour usually, so far ok

Due to high water, the boat trip could not take place. That changes the tour a lot, too bad. So it's pretty expensive too. Guide was good.
