Jaisalmer, the golden city is known for its architectural value, especially because of the breath-taking Havelis this city has! Explore the three must-visit and most spectacular of these places in this fun walking tour which starts at two comfortable timing during the day, one at 9:00 AM in the morning and the other at 4:00 PM in the evening.
Your tour will begin with your guide picking you up from your hotel and from thereon taking you to the first stop, the spectacular, Patwon ki Haveli. The first of its kind to be built in the city, this beautiful cluster of 5 Havelis will have you hooked to its beauty! With remarkable wall paintings, jharokhas (balconies) straight out of a painting, archways, and gateways this architectural marvel became a pioneer of all later construction in the city.
After spending some quality time here, move to the next haveli in line, the Nathmal ki haveli. Once the residence of the Prime minister of Jaisalmer, this gorgeous architecture is considered “the best” in terms of splendor! With a subtle mixture of Islamic and Rajputana art, this place has a lot of stories related to its construction. Follow your guide as you explore the intricate details about this place.
Next up in line, is the Salim Singh haveli. Built-in 1815, this haveli is famous for its unique peacock-based architecture. Consisting of as many as 38 balconies, which by the way are all distinct in design give a panoramic view of the city! The haveli is also referred to as Jahazmahal for its resemblance to a ship!
Once you’re done with the Havelis, move ahead to the fort with your guide to visit the ancient Jain temples. Dating back to the 12th and 15th centuries, these seven temples are one of the most structures inside the fort! Famous for their Dilwara style paintings and architecture famous in the medieval era this temple is a gorgeous place to understand the history, culture, and religious values of India. Once you’re through with all the places, your guide will drop you back at your hotel
