Description

At 9:00 AM, your trip starts with a pick-up from your accommodation and a briefing from your guide. You will arrive in Jallianwala Bagh around 9:30 AM, and you will explore this famous garden for an hour. It is a monument to the 1919 massacre in which more than a thousand defenceless Indian villagers were slain by British forces led by General Dyer. This location serves as a moving reminder of India's struggle for freedom.

You will then spend 30 minutes visiting the Saragarhi Memorial Gurudwara at 10:45 AM. This Gurudwara honours the Battle of Saragarhi, one of the most valiant last battles in history, in which 21 Sikh soldiers of the British Indian Army valiantly fought against thousands of Afghan tribesmen in 1897.

You'll stroll through the neighbourhood streets to reach the Golden Temple around 11:30 AM. You'll spend one and a half hours taking in the breathtaking golden building and discovering its background. The holiest place in Sikhism is the Golden Temple, also called Harmandir Sahib. It was established in 1577 by Guru Ram Das and then embellished with gold by Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

You will next have a one-hour lunch break at 1:15 PM, during which you will savour delectable regional fare—possibly even sampling the renowned Amritsari kulcha and cold lassi.

You will spend an hour at the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum at 2:30 PM. The founder of the Sikh Empire, Maharaja Ranjit Singh, is honoured in this museum. It has relics, artwork, and displays that showcase his life, military achievements, and the Sikh misls' union into a strong kingdom.

You will then have thirty minutes to explore the Durgiana Temple at 3:45 PM. The Durgiana Temple, which honours the Hindu goddess Durga and features exquisite sculptures and a tranquil pond, is frequently likened to the Golden Temple because of their comparable architectural styles.

You will finally travel to the Wagah Border at 4:30 PM to see the well-known border ceremonial between Pakistan and India. You will spend two hours taking in the distinctive dynamics of the border as well as the colourful exhibition of patriotism.

Your tour comes to an end at 6:30 PM when you return to your hotel following an exciting day of learning about Amritsar's rich history and culture.

Thousands of devotees visit this place daily. At least one lack people eat langar here without any discrimination of cast and creed. Hundreds of Kar Sevaks clean the temple floor for the comfort of visitors regularly non stop.

Our Guide Attended to Our Needs

December 13, 2017

We are grateful for the time and knowledge that our guide shared with us. Our guide was considerate and always asked before taking us to the different places that we visited. We didn't go to any stores to buy trinkets, which is just as we wanted it. We visited the Jallianwala Bagh, the Partition Museum, and of course, The Golden Temple. There, our guide provided us with access to the volunteer-run kitchen, where the service and enthusiasm of the participants is just as amazing a sight as the temple itself. Our experience was one of hospitality, and we have our guide to thank for it.
